2019 has been full of exciting projects, and we can look back on a busy year with many projects, new colleagues and ISO certifications.
The year is almost over, and we would like to take the opportunity to wish all our customers, suppliers and partners Merry Christmas and thank you for another amazing year!
Back in February our Quality and Environmental Management System was certified according to ISO 9001 and 14001. The certification emphasizes our continous work to deliver the highest quality and to reduce negative environmental impact. In the beginning of the year we also hired a Quality Manager who will ensure that we continue to optimize our management system.
Throughout several years, Linka has experienced a very high demand for our prefabricated, modular heating systems, and 2019 was no exception.
2019 started off with installation and commisioning of two projects for the Norwegian Defence. Late 2018 we shipped a mobile system to the military camp, Porsangmoen Leir, in the northern part of Norway, and in March the mobile system for Banak Leir & Airport followed.
Shortly hereafter, work began on another mobile system - a 2 MW steam boiler for Gimmersta Energy. Before the summer holiday the boiler plant was dismantled and shipped to Sweden, making room for the next project. The past months we've built a 3 MW wood chips system with a 10 MW backup boiler for Neova, which was shipped to their facilities in Sweden in October.
In 2020 another mobile system will be delivered to Vattenfall. Two 4 MW pellet boilers will provide district heating for Gustavsberg outside Stockholm.
2019 has also been a busy year on the Danish district heating market, with project for Nordals District Heating, SK Forsyning, E.On and Gelsted District Heating.
During the summer we've built a new heating plant in Gelsted on Fyn, which will provide heating from wood chips and residue shavings from Carl Hansen & Son.
Before the summer holiday Linka was chosen as the turnkey contractor for a new district heating plant for Nordals District Heating. Over the next months we will install a 10 MW straw fired boiler with a straw cutter system. On-site work officially began in September and will continue until commisioning in April 2020.
At E.On's heating plant in lendemarke we installed a new 2.5 MW wood chips boiler, for burning wet wood chips with up to 45% moisture. Soon SK Forsyning will also be supplying heating from a Linka system, when work is done on the new 12.5 MW straw boiler at Stop 39 in Slagelse.
In the spring of 2020 we will also supply a new straw plant for Stege District Heating. An 8 MW boiler system will be ready to supply heating for the 2020/21 season.
During the year we've also made changes internally. Back in May Sales Director, Thomas Gaardbo, took over as CEO for Linka Energy, while Lars Gravgaard was named COO. Former CEO, Brian Pedersen, took the spot of Chairman of the Board.
In October we also welcomed Agner Lund as CTO. After working many years for our boiler supplier, Danstoker, Agner will now focus on developing both Linka and Jernforsen's boiler technologies.
